This pattern is named after the ancient Greek God Hermes because of the wing-shaped sections on the ankle-part of the sock.
It combines some unusual design features:
- Knitted toe-up
- Featuring a heel flap and diagonal gusset
- Positioning and shape of gusset turns it into a feature of the sock
The simple combination of purl stitches with twisted knits works well with both variegated as well as semi-solid shades.
